Alicia Nicole Part 2 (E31)
Alicia Nicole continues to share her inspirations and even a few more of her original tracks on this part 2 of our interview. She takes us through the music of Jeff Buckley, Portishead, Kali Uchis, Ann Peebles, Eva Cassidy, Alabama Shakes, Erykah Badu, Goapele, and Damien Rice.
Of particular note Alicia taught me a bit about Eva Marie Cassidy (February 2, 1963 – November 2, 1996). This impressive talent was an American singer and guitarist known for her interpretations of jazz, folk, and blues music, born with a powerful, emotive soprano voice. In 1992, she released her first album, The Other Side, a set of duets with go-go musician Chuck Brown, followed by the 1996 live solo album titled Live at Blues Alley. Although she had been honored by the Washington Area Music Association, she was virtually unknown outside her native Washington, D.C. She died of melanomain 1996 at the age of 33.

About Alicia
Singer, Composer, Song-writer, Music Producer
My fascination with music started on the piano when I was seven. At that time, I would hide away by myself and write songs over piano melodies I came up with. I was so shy back then that I never really shared my love for singing until after I graduated high school. That’s when I became interested in music production and performing. I started performing in 2016 and released a collaborative album with producer Pxncho called “A.M.ZOL Part 1.”
